Jill, never stop being you. I love ya. Many years ago I dated a young jewish boy that lived in Long Branch NJ and your mother reminded me of her. She was a wonderful woman. I feel for your Daughter, I am only fifty and have been suffering with AR for many years. I moved out to Phoenix for a job that lasted two years and while I was there I did not have the pain like I do when I am at my home in Virginia. I know you would hate for her to move away, but maybe when she grows up she can experience the love I have had for the Phoenix dry air. I came back to my home last October and have had pure pain in my neck and hips ever since. Enough about me, just wanted to drop you a line and let you know, I think your family is the greatest.

Jill, I really like the show. I hope you found a better dog trainer. That guy was way off on the food part; carbs are the last thing dogs and cats should be eating. They are carnivorous and should be eating meat instead of dry prepared foods. They can't burn off the carbs and can easily gain weight from dry food. It's hard to find a good dog trainer but I hope you don't give up on Ginger. I think her aggression is fix-able.

Jill, that dog is a trip. I love you but I have to agree with Ally letting that dog lick the inside of your nostrils is truly disgusting, omg Jill, lol, at that moment when you did that on national television you fell right off the flipping pedestal I had you on girl, lol, please stop that Jill. I knew you were watching last nights episode and I thought to myself your at home either laughing your butt off or dying of embarrassment, I suppose boogers do taste better than dinkleberries!!! Jilly Jill Jillo I love love love you but no no no, restrain yourself you are a lady, what would your mother say? Oh and just so you know you need to get another dog so Ginger can spaz out on it rather than the people. Too Too Funny. Love the show, love the store and keep the ripped jeans, I noticed them right away and thought they were cool!
jill, I love the show! However, i really do not understand why Bethanny is on the show. She is NOT a housewife. She is not married nor does she have kids. They could not find any other woman in NYC.
Jill,Enjoy watching you interact.Loved your talk with Bethanny.I think you are a good friend to her.
Your daughter is such a pretty girl.I hope she grows out of the breathing problems.I grew up with problems similar to hers and with a weight problem due to inactivity.I hope you can introduce her to some activities she can share with you that will give you time together.

Sometimes it really helps to toss that coin and flip the script so that one can see there own faults. But, like Bethany I too can relate to wanting to get away just to clear our heads.

Hi,
To tell you the truth, I think you run not because you are not ready to be married and to have children but because you deep down know that you are with the wrong guy. It seems that with your current man he comes with a ready-made family and ready-made problems as well. You "ran" because you truly know that to be true. I actually do not think you are running away from anything. It is just your way of saying "maybe this isn't a good idea after all and I deserve better." I can understand your wanting to live down-town and be away, but it's just that an idea that gives you some breathing room. If you really wanted to live there, you would have moved all ready. Also, you did not blindside him. You asked him a legitimate question, and he should have given you a legitimate answer cameras/no cameras around. None of that should matter at all. He should be able to speak as freely about what's on his mind just as you had done. Personally, I think you did the right thing and called him out. It lets you know where he's at. You might not like the answer that he gave you, but you also should spend too much time with someone who doesn't want the same things you want. He seems like a nice guy, but you two are not on the same page. If he was, he would not let you feel as you did. When a man is truly into someone, he will be reassuring. He does not say to effect of "we'll talk about this later" and brushed it off for a while. He won't put matters of great importance to you on the backburner like that. If you choose to stay with him, I hope it is because you two are on the same page and not because you feel as if you have something to prove to others and to yourself that this will not be another instance of your wanting to "run." That's a bunch of crap. Women are smart enough to know with what they can and can not live. When you meet the man with whom you feel comfortable, you won't feel as if you have to go to Miami to clear your head. He'd go with you so you can both work it out together. Best wishes to you.

Hello Jill,
When I turned 50 I started buying the National Enquirer. Couldn't before then because I was embarassed. Now, watching The Real Housewives of NYC is my new indulgence that is also a bit of an embarassment. However, of all the "wives" on the show you are the only one I find "real" and honest. If the others are your friends, you need new friends.
Love your Gay Husband. If I had wealth I'd have one too, Who else would be so honest when you are shopping? Ok, besides your mother, who was wonderful! Love her!
Your daughter is beautiful and has a good head on her shoulders. Once you quit forcing the relationship between her and your husband, it will all work out fine. I became friends with my step-father and the respect has always been there. It has to happen naturally. Your husband seems to be a good man, a blessing.
Don't know that I could stand to have my personal life on national tv and, in addition, have a blog of folks telling me how to live it, but wanted to add my two cents, since I can. If the show helps your business, then, Bravo! indeed.
Will keep watching and laughing and feeling like a fly on the wall, but it's fun.

Dearest dearest Jill,
I have never written on any blogs before but I had to write to you this time. I haven't watched much TV for some time now, I disconnected it once the school year started but my friend kept on mentioning the show so I thought I would tune in and satisfy my curiousity. It was only because of you that I connected my TV again and now make sure to watch the show. You are amazing to watch and a wonderful friend to have. Most people I know and get to meet in the city are pretentious, fake people and what is most beautiful to see is how real you are. With you the true saying, "What you see is what you get," applies the most. You should be so proud of the person you are and also know that you are a wonderful mother and wife. Your husband is like a teddy bear and your daughter is a gem. With time she will know for herself who she is and will be more comfortable to let others see that she shines. She has heart and soul and makes my heart melt. You are a very lucky lady and don't ever forget to count your blessing. You have many. Keep the show going and keep on entertaining. In today's sick world, it's wonderful to be distracted by the sweetness and realness of what you bring to it. Keep on being you and stay friends with the countess. You make very good friends with her. As for Ramona? I wish they cut her out of the show because I stay away from women like that. She lacks class and decency and everything else a true woman needs to embody. Sadly it's not her fault. She simply wasn't born with it. I feel bad for her husband and her lovely daughter. Anyways Jill, ROCK ON!!!!

Don't feel guilty about Ginger sleeping in your bed. She's a chihuahua, not a great dane. She's spoiled, so what? The family can deal. You're fortunate to have a being who loves you unconditionally and never gets hormonal.
Has Ally tried walking Ginger? I know teenage girls would rather die than walk around the block for pleasure, but it helps restablish the pecking order with dogs. Ginger might see Ally more as an alpha if she walks her often. If not, no big deal, she's got tiny teeth!

You are FABTASTIC! Bless your heart and soul for working hard and succeeding. My favorite parts of the show are when you and LuAnn get together. Your relationship with Luann reminds me of a 34 year relationship I have with my BFF.
Keep working on Ally and your husband. Never ever give up on that. Your love for both of them is so real I fully understand you wanting them to be close. I think it is on the verge of happening, especially his inter-action with her when she went to the detox center, he even tasted her juice! You gotta love that!
I tell ya ... each episode I like you more and more! There is not a doubt in my mind that indeed if I lived in NYC and saw you on the street and waved a 'hey there' to ya ... you'd wave right back at me. :) ...
I sleep w/ my puppy-boy also, his name is Beauregard Sumter, but I call him 'bo-bo'. He is in training to be my assistant dog. Your puppy was such a cutie-pie and you and he together are funny.
Your daughter Ally, is very pretty and has really good vibes ... like her Mom.

Jill , I like you on the show. I enjoy watching you and the others on the show. It's fun to glance into your personal lives. One thing that bothers me is the way you react to Ramona. I think it is time for you to move beyond whatever it is you have against her. It appears that she tries to be cordial to you but you appear to be acting quite selfishly towards her. There appears to be too much concern over who's who with you people. Who's invited, who's wearing what. Who says what, who knows whom. The fashion show episode was an example. The fashion show was about the designer Luca, Luca not Jill. There are times when we must swallow our pride. So cast your pride aside. Also, let your daughter cultivate a relationship with your husband and try not to push them on each other. After all you chose him she did not. You women appear to be so shallow sometimes. I sit in my lovely home which the NY apartment size pales to, and think, how shallow your lives are. You do great to attend social events but if your attitude is about what each other is wearing, etc. then stay home, and donate the money you spent on hair, nails, shoes, and clothes etc. so that others less fortunate can have basic things.

I kinda went thru the same thing a few years ago when I was thinking about a divorce. And I wouldn't call it running, I used the time as a re-focusing period.
Oh... I have to comment on the Tennis match. Me being a semi-retired competitive softball player, I so relate to the level of competition and wanted to jump thru the tv and woop some Ramona hiney on the tennis court.

What is this that a few people are advising you not to "push" the relationship between your daughter and husband. Listen, we've ALL seen how cold and distant he can be with Ally on most episodes (yes, he made a great effort on greeting her nicely and cheering her on when she came home from the Detox Center- I hope he keeps it up) but he needs to get his priorities straight...and YOU need to enforce it and make sure he's consistant.
Ally is your DAUGHTER! She's a beautiful and smart girl. Make sure he makes an effort EVERY DAY to make this child feel special and wanted. HOW DARE HE just be cordial to her! Is she NOT part of the family? What is this "not getting along" thing between them??? How can you allow HIM this? It will only hurt her esteem, her self image. Oh sure, you (and she) may not see it now, but wait until she's off to college and into her 20's... Put a stop to it!
Another thing, who cares where you sit in a fashion show? Ramona will NEVER have the kind of class and grace that you possess.
I enjoy the show very much, just like everyone esle. I always say to my David, I'm just like Jill, she is much better at being Jill, but I'm like Jill. One of the episodes that caught my attention was the one where you had said that you and Ramona are not really friends and that you socialize in the same circles but you don't consider her a friend you would meet with one on one and have lunch together. This is something you said on your own when you spoke of Ramona. That is why I do not understand why you were so upset with her when she didn't invite you to her little cooking party at her house in the Hamptons. Jill, this is one time you put your foot in your mouth. I'm not a fan of Ramona and she seems to put her foot in her mouth quite often, but in this instance you really had no right to be upset. You yourself said you don't really consider her a close friend. I really hope you read this and maybe see things from a different perspective.

I appreciate how up front you are, how willing you are to help others and how you play a vital part in your family and friends lives. The love you have for your family is obvious, and genuine.
While it's impossible to really get to know someone from a TV show, (I mean let's be honest)....I can only imagine how thankful those around you must be for having you in their lives.
Take care and good luck in all you do!

Im from South Jersey my parents moved from NY before I was born. Going to school in the South has made me so proud of where I am from and who I am. Its very hard seeing a church all over the place and for Hanukkah I went to Target to get a little light up Menorah and the person didnt even know what that was nor did he know what Hanukkah was. I was really upset and hearing my mom just made me feel so much better. Seeing you just reminds me so much of home and my mom and you have no idea how special that is! Not only that but my grandpa was in the textile industy and dad is in fashion in NY so you just make me sooo happy! Thank you for being you!!

I'm surpirsed with the way you "put-up" with Romona's high school behavior. The dinner party was at your home and you should have taken charge when she began insulting your guests, Simon and Alex. First, Ramona insults you by not inviting you to her dinner party then she comes to yours and beats on your guests making them feel a bit uncomfortable. You should have asked her to leave if she had a problem with who attended. You really should have claimed your territory and showed her who's boss...really!

Dear Jill,
I felt so sorry for you when Ramona unloaded on Simon at your dinner party. She was so rude it was unbelievable. It's not like you invited her ex-husband or O.J. Simpson for heaven sake. She was really rude to Simon, Alex and you.
You handled yourself as well as could be expected and I thought it was sweet of Luann to try and get Ramona to behave. Obviously it was not successful, but at least she tried.
I do not for one minute believe that Ramona had other plans to go out that night. She just said that to Bethenny when she realized how rude she was by walking out in the middle of a dinner.
Ramona owes you, Simon and Alex and the rest of your guests a big apology. No one would blame you if you did not invite her to future events.
Jill-
You are by far the BEST housewife-even compared to the CA housewives! It has been such a pleasure to watch you and your family. Aly seems like such a dear sweet honest old soul daughter that I would love to have my 4 year old daughter act like someday. My sister and I are bringing our daughters to NY for her daughters 16 birthday-does Aly babysit? But seriously-I also wanted to add that Bobby is adorable! He is so in love with you and your daughter-what a fabulous man. He is so devoted to the two of you which is so refreshing to see with the very hectic lifestyle that the two of you must lead. I am hoping that you get your own spinoff show where you are able to give advice on anything from love to party planning to where to eat while in NY.
ps-I freak out before I entertain too-even if it is for my childrens (4yrs and 3 yrs) birthday parties! It is important to do it right!

Jill, you are definitely the leader of this pack. Tell me, don't you think Ramona is definitely on something? Her eyes are always about to jump out of her head? Her behavior is sometimes irrational and at the girls dinner party, she opted to leave and then later justify it to Bethanny as having a prior appointment? Kind of strange. I believe she realized she was or had made a fool out of herself by complaining too loudly.

But in my opinion, you really dropped the ball at the girls' night out dinner party. Granted, you could not have anticipated and therefore could not have prevented the attack on two of your guests by another guest. But you should have put a stop to Ramona's screeching tirade. Because you failed to do so, LuAnn had to step in, and even then you didn't speak up as quickly as you could have, to assure Alex and Simon of their being welcome in your home. I'm left wondering if you called them the next day and apologised for the way they were treated, because I would have done at least that much. While I may or may not have spoken a few choice words to Ramona, I certainly would never have her as a guest again.

Dear Jill,
My condolences on your dinner party. No one could have predicted that Ramona would behave so rudely to another guest at the party. She owes you and everyone else a huge apology. There is no excuse for bad manners. I would not invite her again.
I know how it feels to have a bad party. We invited another couple to dinner a few years ago. I cooked all day, shipped the kids off for the night so we could have adult conversation and enjoy ourselves.
These people were in their 40.s at the time and we were friends for a long time. Well they showed up on time, and necked and made-out in front of us during cocktails, dinner and when we went to a club to hear music. They spent the entire evening with their tongues down each other's throats!!!
I don't think my husband and I said more than a couple of words to them all night. Jerry (my husband) kept shrugging his shoulders as if to say "what can we do?" I was at a loss for words. It was the worst dinner party we ever had and we did not invite them over again. We're still friends, but that was too rude.
I could have served them McDonald's food and they wouldn't have noticed. I've never been that uncomfortable in my own home.
Take yourself and Bobby out and celebrate the fact that you are a strong, classy, well-mannered person who is above paying Ramona back for her unforgivable rudeness.

Wow, I wish I could have a friend like you in So Cal. I like that you make it known you are Jewish because I am Jewish and you make us all look good. I wish I knew more women like you in Southern California. Unfortunately in South Orange County, you get too much of the "Real Housewives of O.C." nouveau riche attitude. NOt one of them mentioned giving as part of being a part of high society, and it really philanthropy (Tzidakah) is really what it's all about, and I know you know it's not just to stay in high society. It's because its the right thing to do. I get that you know the right thing to do, and you do it. I love black licorice by the way.

I'll do anything, to get to the next step to achieve my goal. You connect people all the time. How about making someone's dreams come true? I caught the episode in which Allyson went to the detox center, and you were talking about her arthritis. She is way young to be facing such an issue. Its quite dis-heartening for me to see individuals suffer perhaps needlessly. My colleague, a functional medicine doctor, and myself, run nutritional and laboratory testing to find out underlying causes for such issues. Many times we see these issues related to food allergies, intolerances, etc. that have been overlooked. So, my question is, have you taken her to see such a health professional?

My daughter was born with congenital heart disease and I thought she would never live beyond her teen years. She's since had open heart surgery (UCLA medical center) and now works full time and feels wonderful, and by the way, she will be celebrating her 51st birthday this June. With your wealth, couldn't you put in a an exercise heated pool for her? Working out in heated pool water is the best exercise there is for those of us with arthritis. They make small pools (about 5'x 10'x 4' deep) that have motors that create a current to swim against...kinda like running in place. And I suspect her weight problem is steroid induced? She has the 'moon' face of someone who has to take them for the R.A. I really like you since you're so genuine. Your desire to "make nice" with those who disrespect you would be productive if you would stand your ground as to NOT accepting further abuse (and disrespect).
What Bethany said to you at her birthday dinner was unconscionable! Plus, her further cattiness regarding your trying to be helpful looking at the apartment is also abominable. She stated she has no friends, and there is a REASON for that! How that guy can consider having her around his children is beyond me - she is NOT mother material, not in any way, shape or form.
As for Ramona, she is so childish that it is amazing that _anyone_ would want to be her friend, much less be around her for more than five minutes.
Perhaps the people on this show aren't really friends and you were thrown together for drama's (Ramona) sake. I hope that is the case, because you deserve better. Much, much better.
All the best,

Let us face one thing clearly, Alex expressed by her actions on more than one occasion to each and every one of you ladies, that, short of being joined at the hip, she and Simon most probably had matching designer cathaters, and "If lost, return to" written in Latin on their matching depends so that, when not at work, they do not even have to seperate long enough to make a trip to the restroom.
As the hostess of the dinner party that Alex requested permission for her hubby to attend, you had the responsibilty to tell Alex that you were extending the invitation to females only.
It is not that hard to understand, and I do not believe that she or he either one, are that dense as to not understand the whole concept of what your gathering was all about.
You have obviously shown that you have no problem "telling it like it is", so why did you choose, being the hostess, to say "no!" when she so rudely asked if she could bring her husband with her?
There was no excuse what so ever for any of the lack of civility at your dinner party, because it would have been very appropriate for you to have told her sorry, no men (even in drag), and told her if she could not come without Simon, that possibly she can make it to the next coed dinner you throw and hung up.
You ruined a perfectly wonderful night of picking on "what's her name??" the dumb blonde in the room by not handling the invites correctly in the first place...

You and Bethany are my favorite, you both made me laugh. Now as for Alex & Simon..just a bit strange and I'm not an expert or anything, but Simon is a bit controlling and poor Alex seems just to naive to realize that she's being controlled. Just odd. As for Ms. Ramona...it's not even that she's a strong woman, she's just a rude person!! I don't care for her. Luann is a lovely person but I'd be nervous to meet her in person..she has that uppity attitude. But all in all "Good Show"!!

Hi,
To tell you the truth, I think you run not because you are not ready to be married and to have children but because you deep down know that you are with the wrong guy.

Good luck with Ginger. I'm glad that she's coming around. I have to admit that I'm glad that my 104lb Rotty doesn't lick the inside of my nose...don't think it would be a pretty pic....:))

I hated how Ramona treated you with the dinner party. Who does that? Leave out a new friend, invite the new friends friend without her. That was so immature and hurtful and I felt for you. I love that you won the tennis match. :) Shame Shame Shame on Ramona.
My daughter is moving to New York in June for her surgical residency. I am excited to be able to visit and see the city. I hope she runs into you sometime. I love how you your friends new to the city.
Anyway...I enjoy the show.

Hi Jill,
I was just watching the reruns of Housewives and I just had to write in.

Its very hard seeing a church all over the place and for Hanukkah I went to Target to get a little light up Menorah and the person didnt even know what that was nor did he know what Hanukkah was. First, Ramona insults you by not inviting you to her dinner party then she comes to yours and beats on your guests making them feel a bit uncomfortable. You should have asked her to leave if she had a problem with who attended. You really should have claimed your territory and showed her who's boss...really!

I hope she can get her issues with her immune disorder corrected in time. The weight is only a byproduct of that immune disorder.
Your wonderful, generous and sensitive husband reminds me of my husband. They are only human beings as well as we. You and Luanne are my very favorites!

I would chose you as my friend times over!!

Jill, I enjoy watching your segments of the show, I think you and Bobby are great. You seem to be genuinely generous and good-hearted people.

With your wealth, couldn't you put in a an exercise heated pool for her? Working out in heated pool water is the best exercise there is for those of us with arthritis. They make small pools (about 5'x 10'x 4' deep) that have motors that create a current to swim against...kinda like running in place. And I suspect her weight problem is steroid induced? From another "Five Towns Girl" - I think you are incredibly sweet and are a great friend! I am addicted to the show and cannot stop watching! I loved when you took your Mom shopping with you - that was so funny, and you looked amazing in that black dress. I miss Woodmere; I used to live there when I worked in NY. I would love to stop at Bagel Nosh for lunch when I lived there, but that was a long time ago! Best of luck to you.

Dear Jill;
I have to say the first time I watched the series after it moved to New York Housewives I like you! Just immediately, I liked you! You and The Countess (I just love saying that word lol) are the two women I'd love to have lunch with. I think you're both real, honest, blunt, and two of the most loving mothers I've ever watched on television. You look at your daughter and the love for your family really is quite apparent.
You most likely admire Bethany's honesty (as do I) due to the fact that you are of the same calibur of integrity and morality.
I just LIKE who you are Jill. Now, I'm not one of those women who immediately believes all she see's on TV or in magazines, but there is an authentic vibe to you, and I just wanted to tell you that.
Blessings, Lisa

Jill, Hi. I LOVE Ginger! I have a boy dog just like her. His name is Elvis and he is hysterically funny just like Ginger. Don't change a thing about her! Just spoil and enjoy her. Their little fuzzy faces enrich the quality of our lives. I think you are the best and classiest of all of the ladies on the show. Love your Daughter, Husband, Mom, Sister and Gay-Husband too. Don't change a thing!! :)

Jill,
I really like you since you're so genuine.
All the best,
Lea

Jill,
Let us face one thing clearly, Alex expressed by her actions on more than one occasion to each and every one of you ladies, that, short of being joined at the hip, she and Simon most probably had matching designer cathaters, and "If lost, return to" written in Latin on their matching depends so that, when not at work, they do not even have to seperate long enough to make a trip to the restroom.

I think Ramona is crass and common. Her attempts to be young, dress young, act young is embarrassing to her daughter and to people around her. The only reason I'm saying this on your blog is to say this:
I loved it when you told her your mother said never to wear anything your daughter could wear (or something like that). Perfect!! Too bad Ramona doesn't get it. I like the way you carry yourself. You mother did a wonderful job. You are a classy, warm, giving person. Pass this onto your mom as a compliment to her.

I love the show...it had a little bit of everything to keep my attention.
